12/24/2023 0 Comments Spectre 32 tv![]() ![]() However, if you are using it in a multi-monitor setup ( which may not be needed as much with a 32 inch screen with PIP) it probably won't match your other monitor as easily as a black display. The monitor is "blizzard white" and should look great in most setups. When viewing at angles, I also noticed a haze over the screen. As I mentioned, the "light bleeding" is especially noticeable on dark scenes, even when you turn the brightness of the display to very low settings, when you view in a dark room. While the low haze treatment may help, I still see a lot of reflections, so just be aware that the refelectiveness falls somewhere between a glossy and a standard matte display. ![]() However, I have no way to confirm that claim.), AHVA display with 178 degree viewing angles, a low haze treatment, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 10M:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio and 16.7 million colors. ![]() I contacted HP's Sales Help via Chat, and for what its worth, they said that HDCP 2.2 was supported. HP touts a 60 HZ, HDCP supported (Note: nothing in their manual specifies the version of HDCP for each port. The upscaling from 1080p to 3840x2160 wasn't a problem in my use at all. HP says that it has a 7 ms gray to gray response time. There was a lot of detail, the colors where vibrant, and I did not notice any ghosting (although I can't say how it would perform with faster games). I also had an old video game called Tekken 3 on the PS3 and I played a couple games. Other than some noticeable light bleed on dark scenes, it looked sharp and detailed even from less than a couple feet away. I was curious how the display would look with Blu-Ray, so I attached a Sony PS3 and put on Planet Earth. Then attach it to the VESA mount using 4 screws. You simply pop out the stand ( if you have it attached) and pop in the included VESA adapter, remove one screw and insert the screw from the adapter. Unlike the iMac, HP makes this thing very easy to mount. Since I ended up putting it on an Ergotron MX mount, it wasn't a problem. You get a 5 percent forward or 23 percent back tilt. The stand for this display does not allow for much movement. I thought it was strange, so be careful if you are using an HDMI switch box. However, I was worried about the speakers being blown out, so I tested them afterwords and luckily they were fine. I turned the monitor off and back on and it fixed the issue. The speakers put out static and turned themselves up automatically. There was some weird issues communicating with my HDMI switch when I first selected the Mac Mini input. It comes in handy for YouTube and where I don't usually need optimal sound quality. That being said, I decided to mount the display on an Ergotron MX arm, so the speakers provide the ability to put the sound in the same direction of the display no matter where I have it placed. ![]() I have much better speakers in my setup and these speakers make the unit wider than it needs to be for those that would rather just use the monitor. They don't sound awful, but I would have preferred an option to remove them. The "DTS Audio" speakers are 6 watt per channel. This might come in handy during football season. You can also flip which source is in the PIP box and which gets the remains screen space. I tested both of the HDMI ports and they worked with my older (2010 & 2011) Macs and the PIP worked perfectly while I streamed video to one box while surfing the web. The display has several port options including MHL, HDMI 2.0, HDMI 1.4 and Display Port. Additionally, it has an option to split the screen, but it will shrink each box to keep the initial resolution and that makes it fill less of the top and bottom of the screen. You can also select the corner where the box is placed. If you want something in between, it allows you to step up or down the size of the PIP box in small increments. I like the fact that you can go right to max size or small size with one setting in the menu. I also tried out the Picture in Picture settings. The screen does a great job of upscaling the signal, so I was happy with the way it looks as a second monitor. I am not sure why the iMac would allow it to select a resolution the OS can’t support, but I went into the display module and set it to match the iMac’s display resolution (2560x1440) and I was up and running. My 2011 iMac did recognize the HP and automatically set the resolution to match the 4k resolution of the monitor which caused a black screen to show up. I don’t currently own a computer that can put out a 4k signal, but the display will upscale the picture from several different resolutions. Once I got the chat out of the way, I decided to try out the monitor. ![]() 12/23/2023 0 Comments Update forge multimc![]() ![]() ![]() Java is version 1.8.0_321, using 64-bit architecture, from Oracle Corporation. 12/23/2023 0 Comments A million little things season 3![]() “My family tried to make me play but I didn’t enjoy it. “As a boy, the first thing you get as a gift is a bat and a ball,” said Baker-Mazara, whose cousin Nomar Mazara played MLB from 2016-22. Eleven percent of the 945 players on opening day rosters in 2023 hailed from the small country with a population of 11 million. One statistical analysis shows players from the Dominican Republic are five to eight times more likely to reach the big leagues than those from the United States. “In class, I pay extra attention to details because it’s not like having a conversation,” he said.īaseball is the national pastime in the Dominican Republic. ![]() When he encounters new words in class, Baker-Mazara asks professors to explain material again, which he appreciates. “One day I hit them with a give back and after that, it’s been pretty good.” “What really motivated me was my friends making fun of me all the time,” he said. “And I got tired of it, so I started really listening to people talk.”ĮSL, or English as a second language, classes helped, too. “They were roasting me the whole time and all I could do was smile and say yes,” he said. Not because they taught him, but because they teased him. “I wanted some more looks and I had to get my grades up, too,” he said.īaker-Mazara credits his high school friends in New Jersey for his thorough command of English. “Now I’ve been speaking English for so long I’m a little more fluent but sometimes people will say something and I have no clue you’ll see me sitting there so confused like, what in the world?”Īfter arriving in the United States in 2017, Baker-Mazara learned a new language and graduated from high school in New Jersey in 2019 with only one mid-major D-I scholarship offer in hand, so he attended a prep school in Ohio. ![]() “To this day, everything is Spanish,” Baker-Mazara said of his thought process. – A native of the Dominican Republic, Auburn junior Chad Baker-Mazara thinks in Spanish, speaks excellent English and is fluent in the universal language of basketball. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() That feeling comes straight out of the show and is loyally replicated here, but this story takes things a step further by putting you in charge of major decisions that you would've just watched with an intense mix of dread and schadenfreude before. She might be willing to help our heroes, if they can handle the heat. Mother of dragons and speaker of amazing lines, Daenerys appears in episode two in all her queenly glory, on the eve of campaign to free a city's worth of slaves. You can still technically play the game even if you know nothing about the series (and if you didn't just add 'Jon Snow' to that sentence, you're in that camp), since the focus is on the Forresters, but there will always be a sense that you're supposed to be more affected by some of the side characters that show up and make trouble for our heroes. Indeed, the game opens on a catalytic event from the TV show, and if you aren't already up to speed on why it's important, you'll quickly feel lost. This Game of Thrones tale borrows heavily from the source material and doesn't devote much time to explaining it, so you'll often be left confused as to what's happening around you or why it's important. If any of that background sounds confusing though, this probably isn't going to be the game for you. ![]() But the art style is really lovely once you get used to it, despite some stilted animations here and there. Given that the Game of Thrones TV show is entirely live-action, the leap to Telltale's oil-painting aesthetic may be a bit jarring, and movements in the engine can look comparatively jerky. By the end, you actually want to keep them safe for reasons outside 'winning' because they're fascinating people, not just the least awful ones around. As with all Game of Thrones works, you can expect a tale rife with tangled political intrigue and brutal violence, though the Forresters' story also has an impressively human side - characters who seem one-note in the story's opening hours develop into genuinely likeable, engaging people by the end, with moments of true tenderness sprinkled in to contrast (and intensify) the doom and gloom. You play as several different members of the Forrester family, scattered from King's Landing to the intimidating Wall, and have to do your best to keep them alive and working to save the House. Here we learn the story of House Forrester, a clan of bannermen loyal to House Stark, imperiled when their benefactors are betrayed and the Forrester patriarch dies in the chaos. Rather than trying to retread events from the Song of Ice and Fire book series that the show has already covered, Telltale's Game of Thrones focuses on a totally original (but Martin-approved) cast of characters over the course of its 20-hour run. ![]() 12/23/2023 0 Comments City of tacoma traffic![]() ![]() There's no way to sync that level of traffic.Ħth Ave is timed to prioritize pedestrians and keep traffic moving slowly. It will always suck until they put a roundabout in. 6th and Sprague/Division is one of those. There are some lights that are just going to be impossible to time/fix. Some streets are designed as feeders and some as relievers. BUT if you go UP the hill on 11th, you'll make every light. If you try and go up the hill, it won't work, you'll get caught at MLK. The city also has plenty of perfectly timed lights but the people of Tacoma are unaware that speed limits are the factor used, not how much traffic there happens to be.įor example, if you sit at the light at S 9th st and MLK, you can make it down the whole hill to the freeway without ever stopping if you just go the right speed (and the light rail isn't coming). To start, the city has been expanding the use of blinking yellow arrows in exchange of reds - in direct conflict with your statements. Personally, I'm looking to get the hell out of WA after 41 years a loyal Pierce County native with deep roots. Source: Dad recently retired from the traffic signal and street light shop on Mildred after 37 years, where the employees there very much know how to make these systems run well, but they do not make these decisions and receive orders from higher up. See the abject lack of real upgrades to I5 between Seattle and Olympia in 30 years. See the aforementioned euro style transit projects taking massive budgets and consuming existing roads. Tacoma is (and has been for years) following the WSDOT traffic management philosophy, which in a nutshell is simply to make driving as inconvenient as possible without looking like they are, to force more people onto mass transit. Why are the lights so poorly timed, then, if they have so much money to spend on pet transit projects? Most of them are capable of being properly timed, they have the technology. Not just a bunch of street lights randomly timed to stop traffic. Think it also contributes to speeding, running red lights, and road rage that seems to be creeping up with increased congestion.Īrea needs a comprehensive traffic plan to move traffic. Some roads should be treated as arterial streets that can move traffic efficiently, safely, and funnel traffic away from side streets that feed them.Īs it now stands, a lot of excess pollution is caused by engines sitting idling and then accelerating away from almost every traffic light. I don't mind red lights if there is cross traffic, and yes I know that you can't synchronize every light, but surely it can be done better than what it currently is. I can drive halfway across San Francisco where the lights are timed to move traffic in less time than getting through our beloved Tacoma. There does not seem to be any effort to keep the traffic moving! When driving down a major street, just before you get to the intersection the next signal light turns red on you most of the time. None of the traffic signal lights seem to be synchronized, you spend minutes at each light waiting for the green when there is no cross traffic.
